In Memoriam: Tony Chee (1970 – 2023)

Tony Richard Wai Man Chee

1970 – 2023

From the YMAA Publication Center:

We are profoundly sad to announce the loss of our friend and coworker Tony Chee. Tony was a YMAA student since the 1990s and became one of the founders of the YMAA Almada school in Portugal. He assisted Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming on many seminars and projects, and travelled with him to Taiwan, Europe and the USA. Tony was crucial in making the YMAA Retreat Center project a success, by designing the website, attracting donors, and traveling to CA to clear land and help build the structures. He has also been the web designer of since the early 2000s, and an employee at YMAA Publication Center. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

From YMAA International Board of Directors:

Tony was an integral member of YMAA and we are saddened to hear of his passing. The outpouring of heartwarming messages and poignant photos on Facebook has touched our hearts, prompting us to gather them in one space. To honor Tony’s memory, we have created a Kudoboard where everyone can share their sentiments and memories.

As of December 13th, the messages on the board have been compiled into a book and sent to Tony’s family. The Kudoboard will remain open and we extend a heartfelt invitation for you to contribute your words and photos. Please feel free to share this opportunity with those who may wish to contribute. Your participation is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
