Frequently Asked Questions
How can I earn YMAA Taiji or Shaolin Instructor Certification?
For certification in the YMAA Taiji or Shaolin system, students must train regularly at a YMAA school and test through the curriculum.
If you do not live near a school, you may be able to start your training journey by attending seminars, training camps, and enrolling in online and/or private lessons with YMAA instructors. Find a YMAA school.
To advance through the curriculum, a dedicated training partner and regular check-ins with your long-distance instructor is required to prepare you for testing. This process can take anywhere between 5 to 10 years for the average student.
The cost varies depending on the seminars, training camps, instructor rates, training resources (books & videos), travel, etc.
Is online certification available?
Online certification is not yet available. An online course for the YMAA Qigong Program is currently in development.
Viewers of videos from the YMAA Publication Center do not receive online certification or recognition of completion.
